MANHATTAN, KANSAS: The Royals traveled to Manhattan, Kansas, to play the Manhattan Christian College Thunder on Tuesday, October 31. Earlier this season, the Royals beat Manhattan in 5 sets; this time, the Royals beat the Thunder in 3 sets with scores of 25-23, 25-8, and 25-13. The Royals are now 7-22 this season.
The Royals narrowly won the first set 25-23 but crushed the second set, winning by 17 points at 25-8. In the third set, the Royals continued to play well, beating Manhattan 25-13. The Royals held Manhattan to a .088 hitting percentage while hitting .367 themselves. Senior Aaliyah Dunbar had 15 of the Royals' 41 kills (.700); senior Becca Entz contributed 7 kills (.778), as did sophomore Alicia Pierce. The Royals also had 60 digs, led by senior libero Chloe Corbett with 21 and sophomore Destiny Vazquez with 17.
UP NEXT: The Royals will conclude their season on Saturday, November 4, in York, Nebraska, with a game against Friends University at 3 p.m. and a game against York College at 5 p.m.
