GARY, INDIANA: The Grace University women's volleyball team traveled to Gary, Indiana, and played two games on Saturday, September 30. The Royals lost to Indiana University Northwest in four sets (25-17, 18-25, 22-25, and 20-25) and to Judson University in three sets (21-25, 16-25, 22-25).
INDIANA UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST: The Royals played Indiana University Northwest first. After winning the first set by 8 (25-17), the Royals lost the second set 18-25. The third set was closer with the Royals only losing by 3 (22-25), but the fourth and final set sealed the loss for the Royals at 20-25.
The Royals had 36 kills (.147) and 51 digs in the match. Becca Entz led the Royals with 10 kills (.417), followed by Marissa Waddel with 9 kills (.231). Chloe Corbett had 19 digs, helped by Karissa Negley with 10. The team had 10 total blocks.
JUDSON UNIVERSITY: The Royals played their second game of the day against Judson University; they lost in three sets. The first and third sets were settled by less than 5 points at 21-25 and 22-25 respectively, although the Royals lost the second set by 9 at 16-25. The Royals had 20 kills and 51 digs. Chloe Corbett led the Royals with 13 digs, followed by Karissa Negley and Alicia Pierce with 9 digs each.
UP NEXT: The Royals will travel to Lawrence, Kansas, to play Haskell Indian Nations University on Friday, October 6. The Royals will play Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Saturday, October 7.
