Volleyball: 2017 Volleyball Announces First Signee Marissa Waddel

OMAHA, Neb. - Grace University head volleyball coach Courtney Moore announces the signing 5-11 middle and right side hitter Marissa Waddel from Kearney High School in Kearney, Nebraska. Waddel will graduate from Kearney High School in May 2017.

"The first time I visited Grace I knew I would go here," Waddel said as she described her reasons for choosing Grace University. "It is close to home and in state. [I like that] it is small so I can know more students and teachers, and most importantly, it is Christ-centered."

Waddel, daughter of Jerry and Sara Waddel of Kearney, played three years for Kearney High School volleyball. She has participated also in track, Tri M, Key club, Spanish club, National Honor Society and is a student ambassador. She currently attends Cornerstone Berean Church where she participates in the youth group worship team and serves in the nursery, children's church and helps with VBS.

"We are very excited to welcome Marissa to our 2017 Volleyball team," Coach Moore said. "Marissa brings a lot of volleyball athleticism and talent to our team. She will fit in well with the girls and the culture of Grace University."
