Women’s Soccer: Grace Goes 0—2 During Weekend Trip to Colorado

AURORA, COLORADO: The Royals traveled to Aurora, Colorado, to play the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats on Friday, October 27, and to play the Ottawa University Spirit on Saturday, October 28.  The Royals lost 0—8 to Johnson & Wales; they lost to Ottawa 0—6. 

JOHNSON & WALES: Grace played Johnson & Wales on Friday, October 27.  The Royals struggled from the beginning of the game against Johnson & Wales.  The Wildcats scored their first goal in the second minute, following it with a second goal in the eighth minute and a third goal in the tenth minute to bring the score to 0—3.  The Royals allowed a fourth goal in the fourteenth minute, then kept the Wildcats from scoring again until the twenty-ninth minute when the Wildcats scored their fifth goal of the game.  At halftime, the Royals were down 0—5.  The Wildcats scored their next two goals off penalty kicks.  The final goal of the game came in the seventy-fourth minute when the Wildcats scored to bring the game to 0—8, which was the final score. 

OTTAWA UNIVERSITY: The Royals played Ottawa University on Saturday, October 28.  The Spirit scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute, but the Royals kept them from scoring again until twenty minutes into the first half.  The Spirit secured their third goal of the game four minutes before halftime, making the halftime score 0—3.  In the second half, the Royals kept the Spirit from scoring until the seventy-sixth minute when they scored their fourth goal, which they followed with a fifth and sixth goal within the next ten minutes.  The final score was 0—6. 

UP NEXT: The Royals will play their final game of the season at home on Friday, November 3, at Bergquist Stadium.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
