Darielle Evans Receives Student-Athlete of the Week Honors from the NCCAA

Darielle Evans received Student-Athlete of the Week from the NCCAA for Division 1 Women's Basketball after stunning performances against York, Central Christian, and Manhattan Christian.  She averaged 21.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists, leading the Royals to three consecutive victories and an overall 4-2 record this season.

She averaged 21.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists, leading the Royals to three consecutive victories and an overall 4-2 record this season.

OMAHA, NEBRASKA: Junior forward Darielle Evans received the Student-Athlete of the Week from the NCCAA for Division 1 Women's Basketball for the week of November 13.  Evans won the award over seven other players who were nominated for it because of her outstanding performances in the Royals' victories over York College, Central Christian College, and Manhattan Christian College. 

Evans averaged 21.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists in the three games played November 7-11.  She helped lead the Royals to their first program victory over York College on Tuesday, November 7, contributing 15 points, 7 steals, and 4 rebounds.  On Friday, November 10, Evans scored a career-high 26 points and contributed 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals in the Royals' 83-73 victory over Central Christian College 83-73.  Evans followed this with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 7 steals, and 6 assists in the Royals' matchup against Manhattan Christian College, helping the Royals achieve an 84-65 victory. 

Evans has been a team captain since her sophomore year of college.  Last season, she averaged 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game; she was ranked 5th in the NCCAA Division 1 and 2nd in the Central Region for steals per game (2.8).  She led the team in steals with 78 in 28 games played, which places her at 9th place in Grace's history for single-season steals, and ranks 10th in program history with 147 career steals.  So far this season, Evans is averaging 20 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, 5 steals per game, and 3.3 assists per game.
