Men’s Soccer: Grace Wins Battle of the Royals Against Ecclesia 3—1

OMAHA, NEBRASKA: The Grace University men's soccer team hosted the Ecclesia College Royals on Friday, October 20, at Bergquist Stadium.  Grace gained the lead in the first half; after being up 1—0 at the half, Grace built up their lead in the second half and won the game 3—1.  The Royals are now 4-9-1 this season. 

Grace scored the first goal of the game 17 minutes into the first half when a shot from James Hofer found the back of the net.  After that, neither team scored until the second half; three minutes into the second half, freshman Noah Bishop scored off an assist from Alex Drent to bring the score to 2—0.  Ecclesia scored ten minutes into the second half, but Grace responded with a goal from senior Alex Drent scored four minutes later.  Grace held onto their 3—1 lead for the rest of the game and won the game. 

UP NEXT: The Royals will travel to Aurora, Colorado, to play Johnson & Wales University on Friday, October 27.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
