Men’s Soccer: Grace Ties Lincoln Christian 1-1 After Double Overtime

OMAHA, NEBRASKA: The Royals played Lincoln Christian at home on Saturday, October 14.  After both teams scored once, the game ended tied at 1, but neither team could score during overtime. 

The Royals and the Red Lions were very evenly matched for Saturday's game.  Neither team was able to score until late in the second half when a shot from Alex Drent found the back of the net in the 86th minute.  Less than a minute later, the Red Lions scored a goal of their own to tie the game and take it into overtime.  Neither team scored in overtime, however, leaving the score at 1-1.  The Royals shot 20 times, 6 times on-goal, while the Red Lions shot 17 times, 4 times on-goal.  Each team had 6 corner kicks. 

UP NEXT: The Royals will host Ecclesia College on Friday, October 20, at Bergquist Stadium.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
